Biography
Venezuelan tenor Andrés Sulbarán won 1st Grand Prix Prix at the Toulouse Competition 2019 and a Special Prize at the Minsk International Christmas Singing Competition 2018. After two seasons in the opera studio he joined the soloist ensemble at Deutsche Oper am Rhein in 2020. His roles in Düsseldorf / Duisburg have included Tamino / Die Zauberflöte für Kinder , Oronte / Alcina , Sir Bruno Roberton / I Puritani , An Officer / Ariadne auf Naxos , Un notaro / Don Pasquale , Il Conte di Lerma / Don Carlos and Chaplitsky / The Queen of Spades , 4th Jew / Salome , Tybalt in Blacher's Romeo and Juliet and Prince / Snow Queen , a role which he also sang at Oper Bonn. His new roles this season are Nemorin o / L'elisir d'amore , Beppe / I Pagliacci, Orpheus / Orpheus in der Unterwelt, Seemann / Tris
