Samuel Varghese

Samuel Varghese is an Indian lyric baritone whose “youthful enthusiasm, earnest and natural voice and expression make him a force to be reckoned with as a young lyric baritone.” – Deccan Herald. Samuel made his Baroque opera debut with the Chicago premiere production of Händel’s Faramondo as Teobaldo. He is also slated to make his recital debut at Carnegie Hall as part of its 2022-23 Season. He is a participant in the second season of Vincero Academy where he is studying the roles of Il Conte Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro and Marcello in La Boheme. Initially a Broadway musical singer, his focus shifted to operatic repertoire during his undergraduate degree.
