La Tosca di Giacomo Puccini è un dramma senza tempo dove la figura della donna è assolutamente centrale e protagonista. Ci sembra interessante, in occasione di questa produzione, connotare la chiave di lettura del rapporto tra donne e potere essendo il testo stesso dell’opera ricco di spunti in tal senso. Il potere, rappresentato dalla figura di Scarpia e manifesto in angheria e sopraffazioni verso la figura di Tosca, è corrisposto da una rivincita della protagonista, la quale arriverà a uccidere il barone e con lui anche la sua sete di potere e di controllo.

Tosca is a story of love and death in Rome in the 1800s.
After the failure of the Roman Republic, when the Papal state is capturing the representatives and supporters of the Republic, the lives of the painter Mario Cavaradossi and his lover Tosca intersect with that of the fugitive Cesare Angelotti.
