Cenerentola is poor: the resentment of her stepfamily makes life difficult for her. But unlike in the fairy tale, her transformation from Cinderella to a beautiful lady who chooses Prince Ramiro as his wife is part of a turbulent comedy in which humor and disguise play a major role. Because the prince also disguises himself at his bridal show in order to win over the lady of his heart without being recognized. “La Cenerentola” is considered a masterpiece in the field of opera buffa, and to this day its scenic elegance and humor shine in full beauty, carried by spirited, shimmering music.
