À partir de la nouvelle russe L’Orage d’Ostrovski, le compositeur tchèque Leoš Janáček invente une héroïne vibrante et déchirée, dont la quête de liberté se fracasse face au réel. L’un des grands portraits de femme du XXe siècle est à découvrir dans cette nouvelle production saisissante.

En 1917, Leoš Janáček, 63 ans, rencontre la jeune mère de famille Kamila Stösslová, 26 ans, et en tombe fou amoureux, au point de lui écrire plus de 700 lettres et d’en faire la muse des œuvres qu’il composera dans les onze ans qui lui restent à vivre.
Fascination ambivalente : Kamila ne l’aime pas. De l’extraordinaire vitalité des héroïnes du Journal d’un disparu ou de La petite renarde rusée à la dureté d’Emilia dans L’Affaire Makropoulos ou au suicide de l’héroïne de Katia Kabanova, la passion malheureuse de Janáček inspire puissamment son écriture et ses personnages de femmes. À la mise en scène, le choix de la jeune artiste polonaise Barbara Wysocka, violoniste, actrice, créatrice d’images et d’environnements hors normes, metteuse en scène de théâtre et d’opéra est la promesse d’une surprenante découverte.
Deux autres femmes sont à la manoeuvre : la jeune cheffe d’orchestre Elena Schwarz, et la scénographe Barbara Hanicka.

In 1917, Leoš Janáček, 63, met the young mother Kamila Stösslová, 26, and fell madly in love with her, to the point of writing her more than 700 letters and making her the muse of the works he would compose in the eleven years he has left to live.
Ambivalent Fascination: Kamila doesn't like her. From the extraordinary vitality of the heroines of Diary of a Disappeared or The Cunning Little Fox to the harshness of Emilia in The Makropoulos Affair or to the suicide of the heroine of Katia Kabanova, Janáček's unhappy passion powerfully inspires his writing and his female characters. For the staging, the choice of the young Polish artist Barbara Wysocka, violinist, actress, creator of extraordinary images and environments, theater and opera director is the promise of a surprising discovery.
Two other women are at the helm: the young conductor Elena Schwarz, and the scenographer Barbara Hanicka.
