"IL VIAGGIO A REIMS" | Don Profondo - Askàr Lashkin (ROF 2020)

The Festival Giovane (Young People’s festival) came into being as a natural outcome of the work of the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda”, through the staging of Il viaggio a Reims, an opera particularly associated with the Rossini Opera Festival, the autograph score of which was accidentally rediscovered and then reassembled for its first modern performance in 1984. The performance of this scenic cantata with the best pupils of the Accademia Rossiniana courses gives them the opportunity to perform on the main Festival playbill. This initiative is not only aimed at young singers, but also at a young audience, with special prices available.
At the same time as performances of Il viaggio, there will also take place Il viaggetto a Reims (A little trip to Reims), a theatre laboratory for children between the ages of 6 and 10, fantastically inspired by the opera being staged at the same time at the Teatro Rossini, and reaching all the magical heights of theatrical reality. The children are not restricted to constructing, in play, their very own parallel Viaggio, but at certain moments of the activity they will be able to see actual chosen scenes from the opera and even, briefly, take part in them, in the famous concluding procession.

Il Festival Giovane nasce come naturale prosecuzione del lavoro dell’Accademia Ros­si­niana “Alberto Zedda”, attra­verso l’allestimento de Il viaggio a Reims, opera-sim­bolo del Rossini Opera Festival la cui partitura fu fortunosamente ritrovata e riproposta in prima mondiale moderna nel 1984. L’esecuzione di questa cantata scenica con i migliori allievi dei corsi dell’Accademia Rossiniana fornisce loro l’opportunità di esibirsi nell’ambito del cartellone principale del Festival. L’iniziativa è rivolta non solo a giovani in­terpreti, ma anche a un gio­vane pubblico, con fasce di prezzi speciali.

Parallelamente alle recite del Viaggio, si svolge Il viaggetto a Reims, laboratorio teatrale per bambini dai 6 ai 10 anni che si ispira fantasiosamente all’opera contemporaneamente in scena al Teatro Rossini, e tocca tutti i punti magici della realtà teatrale. I bambini non si limitano a costruire, giocando, il loro Viaggio parallelo, ma in determinati momenti dell’attività possono assistere in diretta ad alcune scene selezionate dell’opera e persino, brevemente, a prendervi parte, nel famoso corteo finale.
