Een concert van een uur, door jongeren en voor jongeren! Het European Union Youth Orchestra is een geëngageerd orkest, bedoeld om de diversiteit en het talent van jonge musici uit de 27 landen van de Europese Unie te vieren. Ter gelegenheid van het Belgische voorzitterschap van de Europese Unie organiseert Bozar samen met zijn partners van het Concertgebouw in Brugge en het Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi een Belgische tournee van dit bijzonder inspirerende orkest. Rond het thema democratie zullen in de drie steden drie verschillende programma's worden gebracht, telkens opgebouwd rond drie laureaten van de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd. In Brussel brengt Timothy Chooi het Vioolconcert van Beethoven, omkaderd door een wereldcreatie van de Belgische Annelies Van Parys en de Bolero van Ravel.

Un concert d’une heure, par les jeunes et pour les jeunes ! Le European Union Youth Orchestra est orchestre engagé, conçu pour célébrer la diversité et le talent de jeunes musiciens originaires des 27 pays de l’Union européenne. À l’occasion de la Présidence belge de l’Union européenne, Bozar orchestre avec ses partenaires du Concertgebouw de Bruges et du Palais des Beaux-Arts de Charleroi une tournée belge de cet orchestre particulièrement inspirant. Sur le thème de la démocratie, on retrouvera dans les trois villes trois programmes distincts, composés autour de trois lauréats du Concours Reine Elisabeth. À Bruxelles, Timothy Chooi exécutera le Concerto pour violon de Beethoven, encadré d’une création mondiale de la Belge Annelies Van Parys et du Boléro de Ravel.

A one-hour concert, performed by young people, for young people! The European Union Youth Orchestra is a committed orchestra, designed to celebrate the diversity and talent of young musicians from the 27 countries of the European Union. On the occasion of the Belgian Presidency of the European Union, Bozar, together with its partners at the Concertgebouw in Bruges and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi, is organising a Belgian tour of this inspiring orchestra. On the theme of democracy, there will be three separate programmes in the three cities, based on three winners of the Queen Elisabeth Competition. In Brussels, Timothy Chooi will perform Beethoven's Violin Concerto, accompanied by a world premiere by the Belgian Annelies Van Parys and Ravel's Bolero.
