How do you save a country that has run out of money? Pontevedro is financially drained and Baron Mirko Zeta is the country's envoy in the lively metropolis of Paris. Great expectations weigh heavily on his shoulders, because if he could broker the marriage of the extremely wealthy widow Hanna Glawari to a Pontevedrin native, his country could be saved. Unfortunately, the Parisian male world has already fallen for the extremely attractive widow and her considerable fortune. Will Baron Zeta's plan still succeed?

The ensemble of the Hombrechtikon operetta stage will take you with musical precision and unbridled joy of playing again this year - this time to the city of Paris around 1900 with its établissements.

Wie rettet man ein Land, dem das Geld ausgegangen ist? Pontevedro ist finanziell am Ende und Baron Mirko Zeta ist Gesandter dieses Landes in der lebensfrohen Metropole Paris. Grosse Erwartungen lasten schwer auf seinen Schultern, denn wenn er die Heirat der steinreichen Witwe Hanna Glawari mit einem Pontevedriner vermitteln könnte, liesse sich sein Land retten. Doch leider hat sich die Pariser Männerwelt bereits in die äusserst attraktive Witwe und ihr beträchtliches Vermögen verguckt. Wird Baron Zetas Plan trotzdem gelingen?
