In de week van zijn zeventigste verjaardag vieren we de indrukwekkende carrière van pianist en goede vriend Ronald Brautigam. Hij brengt als kenner en liefhebber Beethovens Derde pianoconcert naar Amare. Hierin gaan piano en orkest een spannende dialoog aan, waarin ze elkaar uitdagen, ondersteunen en aanvullen. En de avond brengt nog meer expressie met de geweldige Zevende symfonie van de vergeten componist Emilie Mayer. Een echte ontdekking!

Beethoven, en zijn Derde Pianoconcert in het bijzonder, loopt als een rode draad door het leven van Brautigam. De donkere, broeierige textuur brengt de expressieve kracht van de piano naar een nieuw niveau, waarin Brautigam met authenticiteit zijn visie met orkest en publiek deelt. Vuur en passie, met een diepe emotionele reikwijdte – dit thema trekt dirigent Jan Willem de Vriend deze avond door met Emilie Mayers intrigerende Zevende symfonie. Een symfonie vol contrasten, van dramatisch en somber tot lyrisch en vrolijk, die in de romantische taal van Schumann en Brahms is geschreven. Een absolute must!

In the week of his seventieth birthday, we will celebrate the impressive career of our dear friend, pianist Ronald Brautigam. A Beethoven connoisseur and enthusiast, Brautigam will bring the great composer's Piano Concerto No. 3 to Amare. In this piece, piano and orchestra engage in a spirited dialogue, challenging, supporting and complementing each other. The wonderful Seventh Symphony by the forgotten composer Emilie Mayer – a genuine revelation – will add to the richness of the evening.

Beethoven, and his Piano Concerto No. 3 in particular, runs like a common thread through Brautigam's life. Its dark and tempestuous quality elevates the expressive power of the piano to new heights as Brautigam treats orchestra and audience alike to his authentic interpretation – fierce and passionate, with profound emotional depth. Conductor Jan Willem de Vriend will build on this with Emilie Mayer's intriguing Seventh Symphony  full of contrasts, from dramatic and sombre to lyrical and joyful, written in the romantic language of Schumann and Brahms.
