Brahms’ enormous concerto is one of the most taxing challenges for a pianist, requiring deep artistry and deep reserves of sheer stamina. But the ferociously talented young musician Marie-Ange Nguci is well equipped to climb the mountain. She is a powerhouse, and also an endlessly curious and creative musician, and definitely a star to watch.

Giordano Bellincampi takes us through Brahms’ most amiable and relaxed symphony. He composed it during a summer holiday in the magnificent Austrian Alps, and there’s no doubt this influenced the generosity of spirit in this tender, glowing music.
