„Ich will Musik machen, an die man sich erinnert – nicht weil ich so schnelle Finger hatte, sondern weil sie so berührend war“, sagt Claire Huangci über ihr Musizieren. Die international gefeierte Pianistin wird gemeinsam mit Mario Hartmuth und dem Staatsorchester Kassel das 2. Klavierkonzert von Johannes Brahms präsentieren.

Es gibt wohl kaum einen berühmteren Beginn eines Musikstückes als die Einleitung zu Also sprach Zarathustra von Richard Strauss. Mit seiner Tondichtung sprengt der gerade einmal 30-jährige Münchener Komponist erstmals die von der Ouvertüre hergeleitete Form der knappen sinfonischen Dichtung und orientiert sich bei dem groß angelegten Werk eher an der Faust-Sinfonie von Franz Liszt. Die Tondichtung basiert auf Friedrich Nietzsches Buch über den Einsiedler, der von einem Berg zu den Menschen heruntersteigt und seine Lehren verkündet. Richard Strauss war ein begeisterter Nietzsche-Leser, ein Bruder im Geiste sozusagen, und beschäftigte sich intensiv mit den Schriften des 1844 geborenen Philosophen. Nietzsche selbst war es dann auch, der Strauss’ Also sprach Zarathustra eher eine Sinfonie als eine Tondichtung nannte.

The internationally acclaimed pianist will present Johannes Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2 together with Mario Hartmuth and the Kassel State Orchestra.

There is hardly a more famous beginning of a piece of music than the introduction to Also Spoke Zarathustra by Richard Strauss. With his tone poem, the Munich composer, who is just 30 years old, for the first time breaks the form of the concise symphonic poem derived from the overture and orients himself more towards Franz Liszt's Faust symphony in the large-scale work. The tone poem is based on Friedrich Nietzsche's book about the hermit who descends from a mountain to the people and proclaims his teachings. Richard Strauss was an enthusiastic Nietzsche reader, a brother in spirit so to speak, and dealt intensively with the writings of the philosopher, who was born in 1844. It was Nietzsche himself who called Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra a symphony rather than a tone poem.
