Biography
Die amerikanische Koloratursopranistin Penelope Kendros lebt in Deutschland und ist seit 2021 Mitglied des Ensembles am Landestheater Detmold. Vor kurzem debütierte sie in der Rolle der Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, die als "... [gesungen mit] beeindruckender Sensibilität und Variabilität" (Lippische Landeszeitung) beschrieben wurde. Penelope sang außerdem die Rollen Valencienne in Die lustige Witwe, Musetta in La Bohème, Marzelline in Fidelio, Despina in Così fan tutte, Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro, Sandmann/Taumann in Hänsel und Gretel, La Fée in Viardots Cendrillon und Flora in The Turn of the Screw.
