Marianne Schechtel

The mezzo-soprano Marianne Schechtel grew up in a German-Russian family in Lübeck. During her school days, she began a preparatory course at the Lübeck University of Music . After graduating from high school, she studied in Lübeck for her bachelor's degree and graduated in 2014 in the class of Prof. Anke Eggers. She then moved to Berlin to study for her Masters at the Hanns Eisler HfM, first with Prof. Thomas Quasthoff and later in the class of Prof. Renate Faltin. Immediately after completing her master's degree, Marianne was accepted into the ensemble of the Meiningen State Theater in South Thuringia . The roles sung there include Carmen and Mércèdes (Carmen / Bizet), Dorabella (Così fan tutte / Mozart) and Dryade (Ariadne auf Naxos / Strauss). She also played roles in contemporary opera
