Maria Margarethe Brunauer started her musical education at the age of six. Her passion for classical music and the affinity for big orchestra and stringed instruments emerged very early. She learned to play the violin and later the piano. At the age of sixteen she started her singing classes. After a successful graduation of the „Vorbereitungslehrgang“ at Mozarteum Salzburg, Maria Margarethe Brunauer studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München at Prof. F. Kügel-Seifried. Her operatic repertoire includes i. a. Lucretia in Britten‘s The Rape of Lucretia, Frau Reich in Nicolai‘s Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, the zweite Dame in Mozart‘s Zauberflöte, Hänsel in Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel, Federica in Verdi's Luisa Miller and Tisbe in Rossini‘s La Cenerentola.
