After obtaining a diploma in flute at the “G.B. Martini” Conservatory of Bologna in 1991, Luigi Lupo dedicated himself principally to the study and research of historical flutes. In 1995 he graduated in the Disciplines of Arts, Music and Theatre at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at Bologna University, with a research thesis on the “renaissance flute”. In 1996 he concluded his diploma studies in the Recorder and the Baroque Flute at the "F.E. Dall'Abaco" Conservatory of Verona with Maestro M. Castellani, while at the same time attending the Chamber Music Course with Maestro J.B. Christensen at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
