Irina Churilova is a leading soprano of Mariinsky Theatre (St.Petersburg, Russia), where she performs almost 30 roles - mostly Verdi (Aida, Elisabeth, Desdemona, Leonora in “Il Trovatore”, Leonora in “La Forza del Destino”, Elena in “I Vespri Siciliani”, Amelia in “Simon Boccanegra”, Amelia in “Un Ballo in Maschera”, soprano solo in Requiem), Wagner (Elisabeth, Elsa and Eve) and Russian repertoire (Lisa, Tatyana, Iolanta, Fevronia, among others). She is the winner of such prestigious vocal competitions as Hans Gabor Belvedere (1 st prize and Audience prize) , Toulouse Singing Competition (2nd Grand Prize) and Francesc Viñas Singing Competiton (4th prize and Russian music prize).
