Guja Sandholt

Icelandic singer Guja Sandholt lives in Amsterdam and Reykjavík and performs regularly in the Netherlands, Iceland and internationally. She is also the Artistic Director of a new opera/music theatre festival in Iceland, Reykjavik Opera Days, which was chosen Music Festival of the Year 2018 at the Icelandic Music Awards. In recent years, Guja has gradually been adding more dramatic roles to her repertoire in connection to the development of her voice, e.g. Leonore (Fidelio), Sieglinde (Die Walküre) and Ariadne (Ariadne auf Naxos). Prior to moving to the Netherlands to study, graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. In the Netherlands, she studied with Charlotte Margiono and Jón Thorsteinsson. She currently attends private l
