On May 14th, just days before what would be Malcolm X's 97th birthday, Detroit Opera presented Anthony Davis' X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X. This piece, with a libretto by Thulani Davis and story by Christopher Davis, is a revision of the original 1986 work. Arthur White, Detroit Opera's Director of External Affairs, spoke with audience members following the opening night performance.
