Born in Segovia (Spain), prize-winning dramatic mezzo-soprano Cristina del Barrio possesses a voice of noteworthy quality that she uses to captivate audiences. She graduated with honours from Musikene (University of Music of the Basque Country, Spain) under the guidance of soprano Ana María Sánchez. Having studied under great masters such as Dale Fundling, Carmen Quintanilla, Maciej Pikulski, Renata Scotto, and Carlos Aragón, among others, del Barrio is currently one of the most promising Spanish mezzos in the national lyric scene. As winner of the "II International Lyric Competition Teatro Besostri di Mede" (Pavia (Italy), 2016) and semifinalist in the “I International Competition Piemonte Opera Voci dal Mondo” Turin (Italy, 2018), she sang in several concerts and performances in Italy.
