Alan Mooney

Alan Mooney is an Irish lighting designer for theatre, dance and opera. Originally from Cork, he began lighting with UCC Dramat while completing his BA in English and History at University College Cork. He is a member of both the Irish Society of Stage and Screen Designers and the UK Association of Lighting and Production Designers. He was chosen to be a Lumière on the ALPD 2020 Lumière Mentorship Scheme where he was mentored by award winning lighting designer Charles Balfour. He was a Gap Day Artist in 2021/2022. He is currently working as Associate Lighting Designer to LD Lucy Carter on the upcoming Royal Opera House double bill production of Mavra / Pierrot Lunaire.
