"You just have to think what you want to be!"
she hates him The swimming lesson. Wanda hates him because her unflattering nickname "whale" comes from swimming class. Yes, Wanda is a bit different than the other kids, or rather her body is: bigger and a bit heavier. She also makes much bigger waves when she jumps into the water. The other children tease her and keep pointing out that she is different. Soon Wanda is so unsettled that she even thinks she is too heavy to swim. But her swimming instructor gives her the all-important piece of advice: »You just have to think about what you want to be!« No sooner said than done. Wanda thinks easily and swims jagged like a shark, nimble like a sardine or fast and agile like a sailing boat through the water. With a lot of imagination, humor and courage, all the worries that previously paralyzed her vanish into thin air.

»Du musst nur denken, was du sein möchtest!«
Sie hasst ihn. Den Schwimmunterricht. Wanda hasst ihn, weil ihr wenig schmeichelhafter Spitzname »Walfisch« aus dem Schwimmunterricht kommt. Ja, Wanda ist etwas anders als die anderen Kinder oder vielmehr ihr Körper ist es: größer und etwas schwerer. Auch macht sie viel größere Wellen, wenn sie ins Wasser springt. Die anderen Kinder hänseln sie und weisen sie immer wieder auf ihr Anderssein hin. Bald ist Wanda so verunsichert, dass sie sogar denkt, sie sei zu schwer zum Schwimmen. Doch ihr Schwimmlehrer gibt ihr den alles entscheidenden Rat: »Du musst nur denken, was du sein möchtest!« Gesagt, getan. Wanda denkt sich leicht und schwimmt zackig wie ein Hai, flink wie eine Sardine oder schnell und wendig wie ein Segelboot durch das Wasser. Mit viel Phantasie, Humor und Mut lösen sich alle Sorgen, die sie vorher lähmten, in Luft auf. In diesem phantastischen Musiktheater mit Wasserspielen und musizierenden Schwimmern können auch die Großen noch ganz viel von der kleinen Wanda lernen.
