相隔四年，旅美大提琴演奏家黃子維將再次與臺灣的觀眾在獨奏會上見面了！此次邀請搭檔近八年的同窗好友，耶魯大學鋼琴演奏碩士—葛柏緯，一同為各位帶來十九世紀末法國女性作曲家的樂曲，當中有半數是臺灣首演的稀世之作。期盼此獨奏會能夠提高女性作曲家在臺灣的能見度，並藉此響應近年來的女權議題與 #MeToo運動。

除了在藝術與文化層面上給予女性支持以外，此次音樂會的票券收入將會全數捐贈給長期投入性別平權和女性議題的公益團體—勵馨基金會、婦女救援基金會、財團法人乳癌防治基金會。

本場音樂會的演出內容希望透過法國女性作曲家的獨特視角，不僅彰顯十九世紀末古典音樂的「百家爭鳴」，更要為過去古典樂壇裡的女性作曲家平反昭雪。隨著十九世紀末英美第一波女權主義浪潮影響，歐洲女性也跟著邁出了緩慢卻具有重大意義的一步，女性作曲家亦開始在音樂舞台上受到更多關注。其中，法國女性作曲家尤為受到矚目，其音樂風格的多樣性更是一大特點，她們的音樂展現出傳統浪漫主義的豐富和聲與現代主義風格的清新氣息，也包括象徵主義、新古典主義和東方文化等多種元素的融合和創新。

The concert tonight is a celebration of the "hundred schools of thought" in musical arts in the fin de siècle era through the unconventional lenses of French female composers. The versatility in musical language of French female composers at the turn of the century is truly worth noticing. Coinciding with the First-Wave Feminism in the US and UK in late 19th century, we can see European women taking a slower yet meaningful step into their emancipation as female composers began to draw more attention on the stage of music history. With the emergence of a number of female musicians in the romantic period such as Fanny Mendelssohn and Clara Schumann, women were more encouraged to express themselves through the means of arts. This artistic emergence of female composers is prominently developed in France and even more so in the diversity of musical styles. Their music shows the richness of the well-established Romanticism and the clarity of the new modernist styles, including Symbolism, Neoclassicism and the influence of Jazz.
