Liselotte von der Pfalz (1652-1722), princess at the court of the Sun King, wrote letters, as is tweeted today: incessantly and sometimes several to the same addressee a day. A bit like an elderly lady who is always on the phone. The princess comes to Versailles as the wife of "Monsieur", the brother of Louis XIV, and lives at this most splendid court of his time until her death. After the death of the »Sun King«, as the mother of the regent Philip of Orléans , she was the first lady of the state for a while. During her lifetime she wrote around 60,000 letters, of which around 6000 have survived. Her records give a picture of customs from the center of the most famous
       royal court of that time. 

In "Tweets from Versailles" the actress Franziska Troegner gives a voice to the blunt, sometimes vulgar and dialectal words of the princess. The glamorous atmosphere of the French court revives the lautten compagney with a musical program of chamber music of the time, works by the court composers and virtuosos of Versailles and music from the favorite operas at court.

Liselotte von der Pfalz (1652-1722), Prinzessin am Hofe des Sonnenkönigs, hat Briefe geschrieben, wie heute getwittert wird: unablässig und teilweise mehrere an den gleichen Adressaten am Tag. Ein bisschen so wie eine ältere Dame, die ständig am Telefon hängt.
Die Prinzessin kommt als Ehefrau von »Monsieur«, dem Bruder Ludwigs XIV. nach Versailles und lebt bis zu ihrem Tod an diesem glanzvollsten Hof seiner Zeit. Nach dem Tod des »Sonnenkönigs« ist sie als Mutter des Regenten Philipp von Orléans für einige Zeit die erste Dame des Staates. In ihrer Lebenszeit schrieb sie circa 60.000 Briefe, von denen ca. 6000 erhalten sind. Ihre Aufzeichnungen ergeben ein Sittenbild aus dem Zentrum des berühmtesten Königshofes der damaligen Zeit. 

In „Tweets aus Versailles“ verleiht die Schauspielerin Franziska Troegner den unverblümten, teilweise vulgären und dialektalen Worten der Prinzessin eine Stimme. Die glanzvolle Atmosphäre des französischen Hofes lässt die lautten compagney mit einem musikalischen Programm aus Kammermusiken der Zeit, Werken der Hofkomponisten und -virtuosen von Versailles und Musiken aus den Lieblingsopern am Hofe wieder aufleben.
