Decembrski koncerta Zlatega abonmaja bo pričaral razkošno in praznično glasbeno ozračje z znamenitim oratorijem Mesija Georga Friedricha Händla. Čeprav skladatelj dela ni napisal za adventni čas, je s svojim vznesenim glasbenim značajem najpogosteje na koncertnih sporedih prav takrat. Po krstni izvedbi spomladi leta 1742 je pisec dublinskega časopisa zapisal: »Dostojanstven, imeniten in nežen ter v skladu s povzdignjenimi, vzvišenimi in ganljivimi besedami, je oratorij prevzel, očaral in navdušil ranljiva srca in ušesa.« 

Doživeli ga bomo v izvedbi ansambla The King's Consort, ki velja za enega vodilnih historičnih glasbenih sestavov, katerega rdečo nit koncertnih sporedov predstavljata baročna in klasicistična glasba. Orkester in zbor je leta 1980 ustanovil dirigent in čembalist Robert King. V štiridesetletni zgodovini ima sestav za seboj gostovanja na petih celinah in nastope v skoraj vseh evropskih državah ter se ponaša z impresivno diskografijo, v kateri najdemo več nagrajenih posnetkov. Ob orkestru in zboru bodo nastopili solisti: Alexandra Oomens, Hilary Summers, Joshua Ellicott in Edward Grint.

The December Golden Subscription concert will conjure up a luxurious and festive musical atmosphere with the famous oratorio Messiah by Georg Friedrich Händel. Although the composer did not write the piece for the Advent season, with its uplifting musical character, it is most often on concert programs at that time. After a christening performance in the spring of 1742, a writer for a Dublin newspaper wrote: "Dignified, eminent and tender, and in harmony with lofty, lofty and moving words, the oratorio captivated, charmed and thrilled vulnerable hearts and ears." 

We will experience it in the performance of the ensemble The King's Consort, which is considered one of the leading historical musical ensembles, whose red thread of concert schedules is represented by baroque and classicist music. The orchestra and choir were founded in 1980 by conductor and harpsichordist Robert King. In its forty-year history, the group has toured on five continents and performed in almost all European countries, and boasts an impressive discography that includes several award-winning recordings. The orchestra and choir will be accompanied by soloists: Alexandra Oomens, Hilary Summers, Joshua Ellicott and Edward Grint.
