When France's "Sun King" Louis XIV was crowned in Reims Cathedral on June 7, 1654, it was a festive spectacle and a musical event of the highest rank. Although the original sheet music was lost, a possible sequence of events could be reconstructed in meticulous detail. The sounding result - a magnificent roundelay of polyphonic baroque masterpieces - is now presented by the original sound specialist Sébastien Daucé and his Ensemble Correspondances: The once sacred coronation ritual becomes a theatrical spatial sound experience!
