Znana od wieków łacińska sekwencja Stabat Mater do dziś jest chętnie wykorzystywanym przez artystów symbolem bezgranicznej matczynej miłości. Muzykę inspirowaną tekstem Stabat Mater pisali zarówno anonimowi twórcy, jak i cenieni kompozytorzy – choćby Antonio Vivaldi czy Joseph Haydn. Tego wieczoru w wykonaniu wyjątkowych solistów i towarzyszących im zespołów Il Suonar Parlante oraz Cuncordu de Orosei usłyszymy Stabat Mater w trzech odsłonach – od dzieła tajemniczego anonima po dwudziestowieczną kompozycję Arvo Pärta. Czas na niezwykłe spotkanie tradycji z nowoczesnością!

Średniowieczna praktyka kompozytorska opierała się na przekonaniu, że dzieła muzyczne powstają jedynie dzięki łasce Bożej, stąd podpis artysty na rękopisie był rzeczą zbędną. Zachowane do dziś anonimowe rękopisy niewiele mówią nam na temat swoich autorów. Możemy jedynie cieszyć się wyjątkową muzyką zapisaną w kilkusetletnich woluminach. W przypadku prezentowanej tego wieczoru anonimowej liturgicznej sekwencji Stabat Mater sprawa wydaje się jeszcze bardziej skomplikowana – do dziś historycy nie potrafią orzec, czy tekst i melodia zostały stworzone przez tego samego autora. Pewne wątpliwości budzi również biografia Josquina des Preza, do dziś najsłynniejszego twórcy renesansu. Na szczęście zachowała się spora część dzieł kompozytora, choć w przypadku niektórych jego autorstwo nadal jest kwestionowane. W swoim Stabat Mater des Prez zdecydował się na śmiałe wykorzystanie melodii popularnej wówczas świeckiej piosenki autorstwa niderlandzkiego twórcy Gilles’a Binchois. W historii muzyki sakralnej zapisało się również Stabat Mater Arvo Pärta z 1985 roku. Jego przepełnione mistycyzmem dzieło doskonale koresponduje z dawną twórczością religijną.

The Latin sequence Stabat Mater , known for centuries, is a symbol of boundless maternal love, often used by artists to this day. Music inspired by the text of the Stabat Mater was written by both anonymous artists and respected composers, such as Antonio Vivaldi or Joseph Haydn. This evening, performed by exceptional soloists and accompanying bands Il Suonar Parlante and Cuncordu de Orosei, we will hear Stabat Mater in three versions - from the work of a mysterious anonymous to a 20th-century composition by Arvo Pärt. It's time for an extraordinary meeting of tradition and modernity!

Medieval composing practice was based on the belief that musical works were created only by God's grace, hence the artist's signature on the manuscript was redundant. The anonymous manuscripts that have survived to this day tell us little about their authors. We can only enjoy the unique music stored in several hundred-year-old volumes. In the case of the anonymous liturgical sequence Stabat Mater presented that evening, the matter seems to be even more complicated - to this day, historians cannot say whether the text and the melody were created by the same author. Some doubts are also raised by the biography of Josquin des Prez, to this day the most famous artist of the Renaissance. Fortunately, a large part of the composer's works has survived, although some of his authorship is still questioned. In myStabat Mater des Prez decided to boldly use the melody of a then-popular secular song by the Dutch artist Gilles Binchois. Arvo Pärt's Stabat Mater from 1985 also went down in the history of sacred music . His work, full of mysticism, corresponds perfectly with the old religious works.
