Begrenzt von Staatsoper, Humboldt-Universität und Hotel de Rome, dazu gesäumt vom Boulevard Unter den Linden – es gibt kaum einen Ort in Berlin, der räumlich wie kulturell zentraler ist als der Bebelplatz. Seit mehr als einem Jahrzehnt spielen die Staatskapelle und Daniel Barenboim hier ein Sinfoniekonzert, bei freiem Eintritt und unter freiem Himmel für alle Berlinerinnen und Berliner und die Gäste der Stadt, so auch 2017, wenige Tage vor der Wiedereröffnung des Opernhauses.

Bounded by the State Opera, Humboldt University and Hotel de Rome, along with the Unter den Linden boulevard – there is hardly a place in Berlin that is more central in terms of space and culture than Bebelplatz. For more than a decade, the Staatskapelle and Daniel Barenboim have been playing a symphony concert here, with free admission and in the open air for all Berliners and the city's guests, as they did in 2017, a few days before the opera house reopened.
