A philharmonic string sextet plays Brahms, Eisler and Henze.

"Long, sentimental pieces"? Johannes Brahms was wrong when he said that in retrospect about his early string sextets. It was they who brought the young composer his breakthrough. And even today they beguile with their melodic beauty, and there can be no question of boredom. The "Ernste Gesänge" by Hanns Eisler are also entertaining. However, not exactly happy, Eisler himself said: "It is a requirement of honesty to name the things that we have gone through with difficulty. I would have preferred to write a smart march. But this time I don't want to write a smart march, but serious songs". Touching, serious and yet light and finally with a spark of hope - in our concert she sings baritone Christoph Pohl.
