Our 2010 production “Trouble and Chocolate” was said to be “a taste of opera works in short, sweet servings” by the Boston Globe. Scott Edminstion directed Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti to start the evening. The one act opera follows a 1950s suburban couple through their daily routine and their longing to reconnect with each other. The evening ended with Bon Appétit! featuring tony award wining Judy Kaye. Kaye not only sang the recipe for “le gateau au chocolat l’eminence brune” but proceeded to make the cake onstage during this reenactment of Julia Child’s television show.
