Framgångarna med den andra pianokonserten stärkte Sergej Rachmaninov och fick honom att försöka sig på det symfoniska ännu en gång, tack och lov. Den flotta andra symfonin är djupt emotionell, med varma melodier som flödar över alla bräddar. 

Kungliga Filharmonikerna leds av Fredrik Burstedt, som också är verksam som violinist och förste konsertmästare hos Helsingborgs Symfoniorkester. Han studerade dirigering för bland andra den legendariske Jorma Panula och har dirigerat flera svenska orkestrar samt en rad operaföreställningar, bland annat vid Kungliga Operan och Vattnäs Konsertlada.

The success of the Second Piano Concerto emboldened Sergei Rachmaninov and led him to try the symphonic once more, thankfully. The sweeping second symphony is deeply emotional, with warm melodies that flow over all the overflows. 

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is led by Fredrik Burstedt, who is also active as violinist and first concertmaster with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra. He studied conducting with, among others, the legendary Jorma Panula and has conducted several Swedish orchestras as well as a number of opera performances, including at the Royal Opera House and Vattnäs Concert Hall.
