The Novaya Opera presents Konstantin Boyarsky's opera Pushkin. The world premiere of the opera in concert performance took place on February 4, 2017 as part of the Epiphany Festival at the Novaya Opera, the world premiere of the stage version by Igor Ushakov - on July 11 and 12, 2018 at the Grange Park Opera (UK).

The opera tells about the dramatic pages of the life of A.S. Pushkin and his death. This is the story of two powerful personalities - the national poet of Russia and the Russian Emperor Nicholas I. Their relationship begins with mutual admiration and mutual dependence.

The creators of the opera are deeply connected with Russian culture. Composer Konstantin Boyarsky was born and spent his childhood in Moscow, studied at the Central Music School at the Moscow State Conservatory named after
Pyotr Tchaikovsky. As a composer, he has a number of instrumental works and arrangements, two ballets ("Sleepers", "Children of War"), the opera "Pushkin", as well as chamber music. K. Boyarsky is the leading violist of the orchestra of the Royal Opera Covent Garden. The author of the original English libretto Marita Phillips is the great-great-granddaughter of the three main characters of the opera: Alexander Pushkin, his wife Natalia and Emperor Nicholas I. In 1999, she headed the British Committee on the occasion of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Pushkin, within the framework of which more than two hundred events were held in the UK.
Marita is the author of the children's book "The Dream Seller", the lyrics, the script of the musical.
