Le brillant jeune sopraniste Bruno de Sá étonne professionnels, critiques et public et voit déjà les louanges de son nom, de sa voix extraordinaire et de sa rare musicalité, chantées par une revue de presse élogieuse.

Encore étudiant dans son Brésil natal, Bruno fait en 2013 sa première apparition sur la scène professionnelle en interprétant Der Knabe dans Der Jasager de Weill (Centre Culturel SESC Belenzinho, São Paulo). Au cours de la saison suivante, il chante dans Treemonisha de Joplin ainsi que les parties de soprano solo dans La Passion selon Saint Jean et La Passion selon Saint Matthieu au Teatro Amazonas à Manaus. Il donne en 2015 son grand début dans le rôle de Sesto dans La clemenza di Tito de Mozart au Teatro São Pedro à São Paolo : « … un triomphe… à l’aube d’une carrière internationale… » [concerto.com.br], et étend son répertoire d’oratorio en chantant le Messiah de Händel et la Petite messe solennelle de Rossini au Teatro L’Occitane à Trancoso, Bahia.

C’est également avec ces deux œuvres qu’il fait en 2016 ses débuts allemands avec le Chorakademie Lübeck. Cette même année, il remporte le premier prix du 14ème Concours Maria Callas de São Paulo. Au cours de la saison 2016/2017, il revient au Teatro São Pedro dans le rôle de Gherardino (Gianni Schicchi), Harry (Albert Herring), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) et Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte). Dans le cadre du 20ème Festival Amazonas de Ópera, il chante le Berger dans Tannhäuser et la partie soliste dans Triunfo da Voz, un concert en hommage au grand castrat Farinelli : « Bruno de Sá met le public en délire… » [L’Opera]. En avril 2017, il reçoit des critiques élogieuses pour son interprétation du rôle d’Alberto dans une reprise de l’œuvre de Giuseppe Balducci Il noce di Benevento. Il remporte également le deuxième prix de la 2ème Manhattan International Music Competition.

En juin 2018, Bruno de Sá remporte le 19ème Concorso Spiros Argiris de Sarzana en Italie. En juillet de cette même année, son interprétation de la Petite messe solennelle de Rossini au Passau Sommerakademie reçoit les acclamations des critiques : « Parmi les solistes, Bruno de Sá se démarque… timbre de voix très séduisant… une célébrité assurée… » [Passauer neue Presse]. Dans les mois qui suivent, il fait ses débuts au Teatro Municipal de São Paulo en tant que soliste dans Chichester Psalms de Bernstein et El niño de John Adams. Récemment, Bruno chantait avec brio le rôle d’Aci dans Polifemo de Giovanni Bononcini sous la direction de Dorothee Oberlinger à Potsdam et Bayreuth.

Au cours de la saison 2019/20, Bruno de Sá rejoindra le studio du Théâtre de Bâle où il interprétera Die Kleine Meerjungfrau dans Andersens Erzählungen de Jherek Bischoff sous la direction de Thomas Wise (première mondiale) et Barbarina dans Le Nozze di Figaro sous la direction de Christian Curnyn. Il a également chanté Sesto dans Giulio Cesare de Haendel dans la mise en scène de Peter Konwitschny et sous la direction de Michael Hofstetter (Oper Halle), ainsi que Isacio dans Irene de Hasse avec Aapo Häkkainen et l'Orchestre baroque d'Helsinki (Musiikkitalo Helsinki et Theater an der Wien).

Au début de la saison 2020/21, il fait ses débuts au Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival avec le rôle de Berardo dans Carlo il Calvo de Porpora mis en scène par Max Emanuel Cenčic et dirigé par George Petrou. La production est ensuite présentée en version concert au Theater an der Wien et au Concertgebouw d'Amsterdam, reprise au Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival en 2021, puis enregistrée. Il rejoint ensuite l’Opéra de Dortmund pour un pasticcio baroque intitulé Sehnsucht mis en scène par Andreas Rosar et dirigé par Philip Armbruster. Plus tard, il incarne Abel dans Il Primo Omicidio de Scarlatti dirigé par Philippe Jaroussky (Metz, Versailles, Montpellier, Versailles et Salzbourg), ainsi que Volusio dans Cajo Fabricio de Hasse avec Martyna Pastuszka et {oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna! (Gliwice et Vienne). Il chante également Nerone dans Agrippina de Haendel mis en scène par Staffan Waldemar Holm et dirigé par Francesco Corti (Drottningholm).

Au cours de la saison 2021/22, Bruno abordera pour la première fois le rôle d’Orfeo dans Orfeo ed Euridice de Gluck pour un concert dirigé par Michael Hoffstetter. On pourra aussi le revoir dans Sarasine, un nouveau Pasticcio baroque mis en scène et dirigé par George Petrou qui sera présenté au Festival Haendel à Göttingen. Le jeune chanteur chantera par ailleurs un concert solo dédié à Mozart au Zaryadye Hall de Moscou, un programme à la Brucknerhaus de Linz autour des compositeurs baroques napolitains, une tournée avec Dorothee Oberlinger et l'ensemble 1700, le et Roma 1700 à Montpellier avec Les Accents sous la direction de Thibault Noally. En juillet 2022, Bruno de Sá et Jakub Jozef Orlinski interpréteront le Stabat mater de Pergolesi au Festival de Verbier.

Le jeune contre-ténor, salué par la critique pour son « charme, sa mise en scène, sa présence, et un incroyable spectre de couleurs vocales'' (Andreas Falentin, Die Deutsche Bühne), a brillé lors de la saison dernière avec l'orchestre de chambre de Moscou, dirigé par Christopher Moulds, dans Le Songe d'une nuit d'été à l'Opéra de Francfort et dans le rôle-titre de Tolomeo, Re d'Egitto au Karlsruhe Badisches Staatstheater dans le cadre du Festival Haendel 2022. La saison prochaine, il fera ses débuts avec Tolomeo sur la scène d'Amsterdam et au Festival d'Aix-en-Provence en 2023. Il fera également ses débuts au Festival de Glyndebourne.

Parmi ses engagements récents figurent First Angel / Boy dans Written on Skin de George Benjamin, et Guildenstern dans Brett Dean’s Hamlet à l’Oper Köln, Lichas dans l’Hercule* de Händel au Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. Il a également été soliste dans Carmina Burana avec l'Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Stockholm, Eustazio (couverture) dans Rinaldo au Festival de Glyndebourne, Narciso (couverture) au ROH Covent Garden, ... Au Dutch National Opera, Shahbazi a incarné le rôle de Diaghilev dans la création mondiale de Ritratto de Willem Jeths et son interprétation a été enregistrée en vidéo ayant très vite atteint 76.000 téléspectateurs. Il a été lauréat du concours Veronica Dunne en 2019 et a reçu le deuxième prix au Concours international Cesti d'Innsbruck 2018, il s'est également vu décerner un prix par le ROH Covent Garden. Il a gagné le Prix de révélation et le Prix Grand Avignon à l'Opéra en 2017.

Un orchestre c'est toute une histoire... ou bien une histoire à construire ! C'est ce que tente le tout nouvel Orchestre de l'Opéra Royal, créé pour les représentations des Fantômes de Versailles en décembre 2019.

Constitué de musiciens travaillant régulièrement avec les plus grands chefs d'orchestre, dans le répertoire baroque comme dans le répertoire romantique, cet orchestre du Château de Versailles sera régulièrement en fosse à l'Opéra Royal (notamment en juin 2022 pour le ballet Marie-Antoinette avec Le Malandain Ballet Biarritz sous la direction de Stefan Plewniak), mais également en géométrie variable pour des concerts et des enregistrements de notre Label discographique Château de Versailles Spectacles comme le Stabat Mater de Pergolèse avec les contre-ténors Samuel Mariño et Filippo Mineccia, sous la direction de Marie Van Rhijn ainsi que les Leçons de Ténèbres de Couperin dirigées par Stéphane Fuget, enregistrés en juin 2020 et en concert en avril 2022, Les Caractères de la danse dirigés par Reinhard Goebel en février 2021, puis les trois contre-ténors en récital en janvier 2022 (Valer Sabadus, Filippo Mineccia et Samuel Mariño), Florie Valiquette en récital en mars 2022, Plácido Domingo en récital en avril 2022…

Théâtre de la vie monarchique puis républicaine, l’Opéra Royal de Versailles accueillit tout au long de son histoire des festivités (bals et banquets des mariages princiers), des opéras, des concerts et même... des débats parlementaires. Depuis 2009, les spectacles, conçus dans cette perspective et pour ce lieu bien particulier, font revivre l'époque où Versailles était en Europe l'un des principaux foyers de la création musicale. Aujourd'hui, l'Opéra Royal accueille 100 représentations par saison musicale, des opéras mis en scène ou en version de concert, des récitals, des pièces de théâtre et des ballets : tous les grands noms et interprètes internationaux se succèdent sur cette scène prestigieuse. Fort de ces expériences de haut niveau, l’Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal a vu le jour, en réunissant les meilleurs instrumentistes des ensembles et orchestres prestigieux à travers l’Europe, avec pour but de s’adapter aux projets artistiques programmés à l’Opéra Royal et à leurs artistes invités.

The brilliant young soprano Bruno de Sá amazes professionals, critics and the public and is already seeing the praises of his name, his extraordinary voice and his rare musicality, sung by a glowing press review.

Still a student in his native Brazil, Bruno made his first appearance on the professional scene in 2013, interpreting Der Knabe in Der Jasager by Weill (SESC Belenzinho Cultural Center, São Paulo). During the following season, he sang in Joplin's Treemonisha as well as the solo soprano parts in The Passion according to Saint John and The Passion according to Saint Matthew at the Teatro Amazonas in Manaus. In 2015, he made his big debut as Sesto in Mozart's La clemenza di Tito at the Teatro São Pedro in São Paolo: "...a triumph...at the dawn of an international career..." [concerto.com.br] , and expands his oratorio repertoire by singing Handel's Messiah and Rossini's Petite messe solennelle at the Teatro L'Occitane in Trancoso, Bahia.

It is also with these two works that he made his German debut in 2016 with the Chorakademie Lübeck. That same year, he won first prize at the 14th Maria Callas Competition in São Paulo. An orchestra is a whole story... or a story to be built! This is what the brand new Royal Opera Orchestra, created for the performances of the Ghosts of Versailles in December 2019, is trying.
