Italian opera took a while to establish itself in London, where old local traditions ruled, but in the first decade of the 18th century things changed. Two theaters began to offer Italian titles simultaneously, the first famous singers arrived on the islands and in early 1711 Handel did so to present  Rinaldo  with thunderous success. A magic opera, full of scenic effects that astonished Londoners, what we are left with today is a work of dazzling melodic richness. About to celebrate its first decade of life, the Les Accents ensemble will surrender to its charms in this concert within the Baroque Universe cycle of the National Center for Musical Diffusion (CNDM).
