Znana z kart Biblii Judyta mogłaby być sztandarową postacią feminizmu. Ona jedyna w Betulii nie wystraszyła się oblężenia Asyryjczyków, sama ruszyła na spotkanie z wrogiem, podeszła wielkiego wodza Holofernesa podstępem i pokonała go w bezlitosny sposób. Jej historia, znana z Księgi Judyty, stała się treścią jedynego zachowanego oratorium Antonia Vivaldiego Juditha triumphans.

Wenecki kompozytor jest wciąż znany dużo bardziej ze swoich koncertów skrzypcowych niż z wyśmienitych dzieł wokalnych. Oratorium z dramatyczną starotestamentową fabułą nie tylko dawało Vivaldiemu możliwość skomponowania płomiennych, pełnych pasji motywów melodycznych, lecz także pozwalało na mistrzowskie scharakteryzowanie w muzyce osobowości bohaterów.

Utwór o pięknej i dzielnej Izraelitce wykona pełna temperamentu mediolańska orkiestra Il Giardino Armonico, prowadzona przez dyrektora artystycznego festiwalu – Giovanniego Antoniniego.

Judith , known from the pages of the Bible , could be a flagship figure of feminism. She was the only one in Bethulia who was not afraid of the Assyrian siege, she set out to meet the enemy herself, approached the great leader Holofernes by trickery and defeated him mercilessly. Her story, known from the Book of Judith, became the content of Antonio Vivaldi's only surviving oratorio Juditha triumphans .

The Venetian composer is still known much more for his violin concertos than for his exquisite vocal works. The oratorio with a dramatic Old Testament plot not only gave Vivaldi the opportunity to compose fiery, passionate melodic motifs, but also allowed him to masterly characterize the characters' personalities in the music.

A piece about a beautiful and brave Israeli woman will be performed by the temperamental Milanese orchestra Il Giardino Armonico, led by the artistic director of the festival - Giovanni Antonini.
