De uit Trinidad afkomstige Jeanine de Bique is in razend tempo de nieuwe stersopraan van de Barok-scene geworden. 

‘Bliksemsnelle loopjes, lange bogen, hoge sprongen: sopraan Jeanine de Bique lijkt het allemaal moeiteloos te doen’. De hoofdmoot van dit programma bestaat uit aria’s van Händel, maar Jeanine de Bique weet moeiteloos een vleugje van haar Caraïbische achtergrond toe te voegen met hier en daar een traditional. Laat het maar aan Holland Baroque over om die genres in stijl met elkaar te verbinden. 

Holland Baroque en Jeanine de Bique werkten voor het eerst samen in een uitzending van Podium Witteman. ‘Een magische ontmoeting’. Ondertussen is De Biques ster verder aan het rijzen. Ze treedt op in de meest prestigieuze operahuizen en deelt het podium met grote namen als Iván Fischer, Gustavo Dudamel, Herbert Blomstedt en Martin Fröst.
