Kacsóh Pongrác nagy sikerű daljátéka, a János vitéz 40 év után visszatért a Budapesti Operettszínházba!

A Petőfi Sándor elbeszélő költeménye alapján született daljáték 1904-es, Király színházbeli ősbemutatóján a darab elsöprő sikere még az alkotókat is meglepte. A színpad hol felpezsdült, hol megnyugtató vidámságot árasztott, a közönség derült, nevetett, majd Bagó meghatóan szép dala alatt már a sírás kerülgette a nézőket. A dal befejeztével újrázást követeltek, de az ismétlés egy kicsit váratott magára, mert a Bagót alakító Papp Mihálynak is könnyek peregtek az arcán. Kukorica Jancsi és Iluska megindító szerelmi története, a csodás magyar népmesei motívumokban bővelkedő daljáték, mely híven követi az eredeti művet – és amely több mint száz éve visszatérő sikerdarabja a hazai és határon túli színpadoknak – negyven év után ismét látható a Budapesti Operettszínházban.

Based on the narrative poem of Sándor Petőfi, the song play was premiered at the Király Theater in 1904, and the overwhelming success of the play surprised even the creators. Sometimes the stage was excited, sometimes it radiated soothing joy, the audience cheered up, laughed, and then, during Bagó's touchingly beautiful song, the spectators already avoided crying. At the end of the song, they demanded a rerun, but the repetition took a while, because Mihály Papp, who played Bago, also had tears rolling down his face. The moving love story of Jancsi Kukorica and Iluska, the song play full of wonderful Hungarian folktale motifs, which faithfully follows the original work - and which has been a recurring hit on domestic and international stages for more than a hundred years - can be seen again after forty years at the Budapest Operetta Theater.
