The season’s opening concert sees a return by the extraordinary Polish countertenor (and breakdancer) whose artistry and personality come together to form an irresistibly appealing combination. As the winner of numerous awards – among them a Gramophone Classical Music Award (2019), an International Opera Award (2021) and an International Classical Music Award (2022) – his gifts have allowed him to bring the countertenor voice to new audiences worldwide, as well as to extend the repertoire possibilities of the voice itself. His programme with the period-instrument ensemble, which celebrates 12 years in 2024, shares early Baroque repertoire – much of it unfamiliar – with his latest CD, Beyond.
