Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński has quickly become one of the most vibrant performers on the international classical music scene, equally triumphing on stage, in concerts and recordings.

This singer of surprising vocal beauty and bold staging, has burst like a meteorite into the international lyrical scene. Called to champion the new generation of countertenors, he is also a very charismatic artist and has thousands of followers on social networks, both those who revere him as a baroque opera performer and those who admire him for his other surprising facet, that of breakdancing dancer.

Trained at the Juilliard School in New York, he has already recorded his first album of arias, Anima Sacra, which has garnered critical acclaim and earned him the prestigious Opus Klassik award as a solo vocal recording. He was also awarded the Gramophone Award in the young artist category in 2019.

His debut at the Arriaga Theatre is exciting as he will perform a selection of pieces by Baroque authors such as Purcell and Handel, as well as pages by Schubert and Polish composers, accompanied on the piano by Michał Biel.

Program: Lieder and songs by Henry Purcell, Franz Schubert, Georg Friedrich Handel, Mieczysław Karłowicz, Charles Naginski, Aaron Copland.
