Nach »La traviata« und »Rigoletto« in den Vorjahren folgt nun mit »Il trovatore« die dritte Oper von Giuseppe Verdis legendärer »trilogia popolare«, jenen drei Opern, mit denen er seinen Status als führender italienischer Opernkomponist der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts begründete. Zugegeben, die im Spanien des 15. Jahrhunderts spielende Handlung ist eine bizarre Geschichte! Es geht um einen Bruderzwist, geprägt von Gräueltaten, Rachegelüsten, Wahn, Eifersucht, Liebe, Verzweiflung und Hass. Aber was Verdi musikalisch daraus macht, ist eine packende Tragödie voll ausdrucksstarker Melodien, emotionsgeladener Arien und effektvoller Chöre. Am Pult seines Cercle de l’Harmonie pflegt Jérémie Rhorer seinen historisch informierten Ansatz: Instrumente aus der Entstehungszeit und die vom Komponisten selbst präferierte Kammertonhöhe von 432 Hertz. Einmal mehr ist der Musikfest-Preisträger von 2017 Garant dafür, Verdi ein Höchstmaß an Spannung, Brillanz und Vielschichtigkeit zu entlocken. Das hochkarätig besetzte Ensemble, angeführt von Ivan Magrì, Olga Peretyatko, Artur Rucinski und Agnieszka Rehlis, wird jede Note der expressiven Musik auskosten und den Abend zu einem Fest der Stimmen machen!

After »La traviata« and »Rigoletto« in previous years, »Il trovatore« is the third opera in Giuseppe Verdi's legendary »trilogia popolare«, the three operas with which he established his status as the leading Italian opera composer of the second half of the 19th century. century. Admittedly, the action, set in 15th-century Spain, is a bizarre tale! It's about a fraternal dispute, marked by atrocities, revenge, delusion, jealousy, love, despair and hatred. But what Verdi makes of it musically is a gripping tragedy full of expressive melodies, emotionally charged arias and effective choirs. At the podium of his Cercle de l'Harmonie, Jérémie Rhorer maintains his historically informed approach: instruments from the time of composition and the concert pitch of 432 hertz preferred by the composer himself. Once again, the 2017 Musikfest prizewinner is a guarantee for eliciting a maximum of excitement, brilliance and complexity from Verdi.
