Due to great success in 2013 in reprise: the comic opera Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini) directed by Laurence Dale, with the cast including Karin Strobos (Rosina), Mark Milhofer (Almaviva) and Brunò Pratico (Bartolo). In 2013, the press and public praised the staging and cast of this sparkling opera buffa . Trouw (Peter van der Lint) gave five stars: “A sparkling and witty whole in a bright color crescendo.” De Telegraaf wrote: “Karin Strobos is a Rosina out of thousands”. Timeless, witty and witty, Il barbiere di Siviglia is full of momentum and brash joy, making it one of the most beloved operas of all time.

Count Almaviva is madly in love with the young Rosina. She loves him too, but her guardian Bartolo wants to marry her himself in order to collect a large dowry. After the necessary comical entanglements, the two lovers finally get each other thanks to the ingenuity of the crafty Figaro.

In this staging, decor and costumes by designer Gary McCann are inspired by the colorful mosaics by artist Antoni Gaudi.

The Nederlandse Reisopera produces committed opera productions of top quality with guts and ingenuity and travels along the theaters in the Netherlands. De Reisopera believes that opera can change the way people look at themselves and the world around them.

Wegens groot succes in 2013 in reprise: de komische opera Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini) in een regie van Laurence Dale, met in de cast o.a. Karin Strobos (Rosina), Mark Milhofer (Almaviva) en Brunò Pratico (Bartolo). Pers en publiek waren in 2013 lovend over enscenering en cast van deze sprankelende opera buffa. Trouw (Peter van der Lint) gaf vijf sterren: “Een bruisend en geestig geheel in een fel kleurencrescendo.” De Telegraaf schreef: “Karin Strobos is een Rosina uit duizenden”. Il barbiere di Siviglia is tijdloos, geestig en gevat, zit vol vaart en onbezonnen vreugde en is daarom een van de meest geliefde opera’s aller tijden.

Graaf Almaviva is stapelverliefd op de jonge Rosina. Zij houdt ook van hem maar haar voogd Bartolo wil zelf met haar trouwen om zo een omvangrijke bruidsschat in de wacht te slepen. Na de nodige komische verwikkelingen krijgen de twee geliefden elkaar uiteindelijk dankzij de vindingrijkheid van de geslepen Figaro.

Decor en kostuums  van ontwerper Gary McCann zijn in deze enscenering geïnspireerd op de kleurrijke mozaïeken van kunstenaar Antoni Gaudi.

De Nederlandse Reisopera produceert met lef en vindingrijkheid geëngageerde operaproducties van topkwaliteit en reist daarmee langs de theaters in Nederland. De Reisopera gelooft dat opera de manier waarop mensen naar zichzelf en de wereld om zich heen kijken kan veranderen.
