This Sunday, Ana and Ine give you violin pearls in A little piece of TSO at the library.

Ellen Lindquist lives in Fosen, but has her roots in the Netherlands and the USA. She is an active and widely used composer who likes to compose in collaboration with other art forms, such as dance, poetry, theater and musical theatre. In Greek mythology, Eos was the goddess of dawn. Eos, daughter of the two titans Hyperion and Theia, is therefore also the sister of Selene (the Moon) and Helios (the Sun). Eos was commissioned in the winter of 2005 by violinist Benjamin Robison as one of twelve pieces that make up a work called The Hours . Eos represented 4:00 a.m. in the progression of hours through the night; from 6 p.m. Until. 06.00.

Eugene Ysaÿe is considered one of the greatest musicians of all time. His compositions, mainly dedicated to the violin, show a lovely connection between melody and harmony. In his sonata for two violins, he writes with calmness, drama, complexity and chromaticism. The sonata gives both violins equally demanding parts, and creates an immensely rich and colorful soundscape.

The concert is organized by TSO's Friends in collaboration with Trondheim Public Library and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra & Opera.

Denne søndagen gir Ana og Ine deg fiolinperler i Et lite stykke TSO på biblioteket.

Ellen Lindquist er bosatt på Fosen, men har sine røtter i Nederland og USA. Hun er en aktiv og mye brukt komponist som gjerne komponerer i samarbeid med andre kunstformer, som dans, dikt, teater og musikkteater. I gresk mytologi var Eos gudinnen for daggry. Eos, datter av de to titanene Hyperion og Theia, er derfor også søsteren til Selene (Månen) og Helios (Solen). Eos ble bestilt vinteren 2005 av fiolinisten Benjamin Robison som en av tolv stykker som utgjør et verk kalt The Hours. Eos representerte klokken 04.00 i progresjonen av timer gjennom natten; fra klokken 18.00. til kl. 06.00.

Eugene Ysaÿe regnes som en av tidenes største musikere. Hans komposisjoner, hovedsakelig dedikert til fiolin, viser en nydelig forbindelse mellom melodi og harmoni. I hans sonate for to fioliner skriver han med ro, drama, kompleksitet, og kromatikk. Sonaten gir begge fiolinene like krevende partier, og skaper et uhyre rikt og fargerikt klangbilde.

Konserten arrangeres av TSOs Venner i samarbeid med Trondheim Folkebibliotek og Trondheim Symfoniorkester & Opera.

TSOs Venner har i lang tid vært en stor støttespiller for TSO. De hjelper til før og under konserter og arrangement, i tillegg til at de bidrar økonomisk.
