In Beethoven’s humanistic world, there is no separating faith in God from faith in Man. The struggle with the concept of the divine, the agonizing dominance of doubt and a redemptive return to a renewed and sincere faith are a few of the driving forces which shape the development of the moving religious drama that unfolds in the Missa Solemnis. This unique and lengthy masterpiece from Beethoven’s late period is conducted by the inspired German maestro Christoph Poppen.

Στον ουμανιστικό κόσμο του Μπετόβεν πίστη στον Θεό και πίστη στον Άνθρωπο δεν ξεχωρίζουν. Η πάλη με την έννοια του θείου, η εναγώνια κυριαρχία της αμφιβολίας αλλά και η λυτρωτική επιστροφή σε μία ανανεωμένη και ανυπόκριτη πίστη, είναι μερικές από τις κινητήριες δυνάμεις που «δρουν» και καθορίζουν την εξέλιξη του συγκλονιστικού θρησκευτικού δράματος, το οποίο εκτυλίσσεται στη Missa Solemnis. Το μοναδικό και μακροσκελέστατο αυτό αριστούργημα της ώριμης περιόδου του Μπετόβεν διευθύνει ο εμπνευσμένος Γερμανός αρχιμουσικός Κρίστοφ Πόππεν.
