Die Zauberflöte von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ist wahrscheinlich die berühmteste und meist gespielte Oper der Welt.

Prinz Tamino verirrt sich und wird von einer Schlange verfolgt! Die magische Königin der Nacht trägt ihm auf ihre Tochter, Pamina, zu retten. Er muss die schöne Prinzessin Pamina aus den Fängen des bösen Zauberers retten. Gemeinsam mit dem lustigen Vogelfänger Papageno macht er sich auf den Weg. Eine Zauberflöte und ein Glockenspiel helfen ihnen dabei, so manche Gefahr und drei schwere Prüfungen zu überstehen.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, der diese Oper komponierte, hat mit „Der Zauberflöte“ ein einmaliges musikalisches Märchen geschaffen, das seit seiner Erstaufführung 1791 die ganze Welt erobert hat.

A musical journey through time of a special kind awaits the audience in Wertingen, at the Wertingen Festival, with the children's opera “The Magic Classroom”.

It is the year 2024, not only is the Wertingen Festival taking place for the second time and the town of Wertingen celebrating its 750th anniversary, but the young student also has to stay after school. Too much iPhone use during class has brought him into this situation.

The boy goes on a magical journey through time, meets a variety of people and experiences a great adventure.

The librettists Annika Egert and Daniel Schliewa, who are also the artistic directors, will bring this piece to the big stage of the Wertingen town hall. It is set not only in the present, but also in the past and the future.

A dramatic journey through time develops in which individual moments from different eras become decisive for the further course of the plot.
