IN A FEW WORDS
The Magic Flute is a unique work although it is part of the Singspiel tradition, the German version of what in France was called comic opera and whose particularity is to mix spoken dialogue and song. A page just as mysterious as it is fascinating, it was composed a few weeks before the death of the musician. The libretto by Schikaneder, Mozart's brother in masonry, has for a long time lent itself to all interpretations: symbolic narrative, allegorical tale, popular fable, magical comedy... Everyone will find his Pamina there. Beyond, remains Mozart's music, imbued with twirling lightness where laughter, emotion and seriousness alternate brilliantly. This long journey from childhood to adulthood, from adolescent emotions to love can only find resonances in the filmmaker Cédric Klapisch. A first for him at the opera and the opportunity to slip from family chronicle to initiatory fable.

EN QUELQUES MOTS
La Flûte enchantée est une œuvre unique bien qu’elle s’inscrive dans la tradition du Singspiel, la version allemande de ce qu’en France on appelait l’opéra comique et dont la particularité est de mêler dialogues parlés et chant. Page tout aussi mystérieuse que fascinante, elle fut composée quelques semaines avant la mort du musicien. Le livret de Schikaneder, frère en maçonnerie de Mozart, s’est depuis longtemps prêté à toutes les interprétations : récit symbolique, conte allégorique, fable populaire, comédie féerique… Chacun y trouvera sa Pamina. Au-delà, reste la musique de Mozart, tout empreinte de légèreté virevoltante où le rire, l’émotion et la gravité alternent avec brio. Ce long chemin de l’enfance à l’âge adulte, des émois adolescents à l’amour ne peuvent que trouver résonances chez le cinéaste Cédric Klapisch. Une première pour lui à l’opéra et l’occasion de glisser de la chronique familiale à la fable initiatique. Au pupitre de ses musiciens des Siècles, le brillantissime François-Xavier Roth et à ses côtés, quelques-uns de cette si extraordinaire génération de chanteurs français du moment.
