PRESS CONFERENCE FOR THE PREMIERE OF THE BAT

Istý kritik píšuci pre viedenské noviny Morgenpost po svetovej premiére v roku 1874 napísal: „... v lóži divadla Theater an der Wien môže človek dostať najkrajšiu morskú chorobu, tak sa to v prízemí vlní pri očarujúcich tónoch, ktoré z orchestra vyludzuje taktovka Johanna Straussa. Všetko tu švitorí, hudie, spieva a trilkuje ako uprostred jari.“

After a world premiere in 1874, a critic writing for the Viennese newspaper Morgenpost wrote: “... in the box of the Theater an der Wien one can get the most beautiful seasickness, since on the ground floor, enchanting tones curl, by the orchestra with conductor Johann Strauss. Everything here chirps, makes music, sings and warbles like in the middle of spring."
