A science experiment that goes off the rails. A cynical bet about fidelity/infidelity challenges love in Così fan tutte, and perhaps change the lovers forever?


The friends Guglielmo and Ferrando make a bet with the philosopher Don Alfonso that their betrothed will be eternally faithful to them, even if they are tempted. The young men agree to put the women's loyalty to the test in a love experiment on the philosopher's terms.

Absurd disguises and entanglements are included in Don Alfonso's cynical attempts, aided by the insolent maid Despina. The women's loyalty is put to the test, all the while Don Alfonso insists that this is what all women do – 'così fan tutte'.

The reason and clarity of the Enlightenment are central to Tim Albery's glorious performance, which has celebrated triumph from New York over London to Copenhagen.

Et videnskabeligt eksperiment, der løber af sporet. Et kynisk væddemål om troskab/utroskab udfordrer kærligheden i Così fan tutte, og forandrer måske kæresteparrene for altid?


Vennerne Guglielmo og Ferrando vædder med filosoffen Don Alfonso om, at deres forlovede vil være dem evigt tro, også selv om de bliver fristet. De unge mænd accepterer at sætte kvindernes loyalitet på prøve i et kærlighedseksperiment på filosoffens betingelser.

Absurde forklædninger og forviklinger indgår i Don Alfonsos kyniske forsøg, godt hjulpet af den uforskammede stuepige Despina. Kvindernes loyalitet sættes på en hård prøve, alt imens Don Alfonso insisterer på, at sådan gør alle kvinder – ‘così fan tutte’.

Oplysningstidens fornuft og klarhed er central i Tim Alberys herlige forestilling, der har fejret triumf fra New York over London til København.
