Great masters such as Mozart, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky struggled throughout their lives with inner demons, and in fact, surprisingly many of the melodies that we can all hum along to come from people who would receive a psychiatric diagnosis today, just as living artists often do have vulnerable minds. 

With this gala concert, we want to put mental illness in a new light and let Odense Koncerthus form the setting for a moving, beautiful and not least festive and fun evening, where well-known classical masterpieces play against Mathilde Falch's personal texts and songs. 

With the first movement from Beethoven's 5th Symphony, Tchaikovsky's music from Swan Lake , Sibelius' Finlandia , Elgar's Pomp and Circumstances and even more fantastic known and loved masterpieces on the programme, this concert is also the obvious place to start if you are curious about classical music , but don't quite know where to start. You have to here – with pomp and glamour, wit and bite and wonderful melodies galore 

The concert is free, and there will be various collections and competitions along the way. All profits from the concert go directly to the Psykiatrifonden and SINDS's work for people with mental illness close to their lives.

Store mestre som Mozart, Beethoven og Tjajkovskij kæmpede livet igennem med de indre dæmoner, og faktisk kommer forbavsende mange af de melodier, som vi alle kan nynne med på, fra personer, der i dag ville få en psykiatrisk diagnose, ligesom også nulevende kunstnere ofte har sårbare sind. 

Med denne Gallakoncert vil vi sætte psykisk sygdom i et nyt lys og lade Odense Koncerthus danne rammen om en rørende, smuk og ikke mindst festlig og sjov aften, hvor kendte klassiske mesterværker spiller op mod Mathilde Falchs personlige tekster og sange. 

Med førstesatsen fra Beethovens 5. symfoni, Tjajkovskijs musik fra Svanesøen, Sibelius’ Finlandia, Elgars Pomp and Circumstances og endnu flere fantastiske kendte og elskede mesterværker på programmet, er denne koncert desuden det oplagte sted at starte, hvis du er nysgerrig på den klassiske musik, men ikke helt ved, hvor du skal starte. Det skal du her – med pomp og pragt, vid og bid og vidunderlige melodier i massevis 

Koncerten er gratis, og der vil undervejs være forskellige indsamlinger og konkurrencer. Al overskud fra koncerten går ubeskåret til Psykiatrifonden og SINDS arbejde for personer med psykisk sygdom tæt inde på livet.
