The opera ensemble will perform on February 19, 2017 from 7 p.m. the premiere of two musical works by Carl Orff – the opera Chytračka and the staged cantata Carmina Burana .

Carl Orff (10/07/1895 – 29/03/1982), a great figure of the twentieth century, pedagogue, composer and also humanist. He was born into a musical family that supported the development of his son's talent. From 1912 he studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Munich to continue his composition studies and combine his self-study with traditional school teaching methods. Orff's experimental efforts in the field of composition also found application in his future pedagogical work – Schulwerk, which then retroactively influenced his artistic activity.

Orff also learned from the old masters, whose works he studied and adapted (e.g. the new arrangement of Monteverdi's Orfeo ). He gained world fame at the age of forty-two with his scenic cantata Carmina Burana (1937), which even for him was of great importance among his other works. A few years later, Orff composed Catulli Carmina (1943) and Trionfo di Afrodite (1951), which together with Carmina Burana form the Trionfi trilogy.

Another important source of inspiration for Orff was the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, which were the inspiration for the operas The Moon (1938) and The Clever One (1942). Speech is also an important basis, for example in the Bavarian plays Die Bernauerin and the comedy Astutuli . Two other plays with religious themes Comoedia de Christi Resurrectione (1955) and the Christmas play Ludus de Nato Infante Mirificus (1960) are written in the Bavarian dialect. He elaborates ancient motifs in the plays Antigone (1949), Oedipus Tyrannos (1959) and Prometheus (1968).

CHYTRAČKA
A fairy tale about a king and a clever woman, which premiered in Frankfurt am Main in 1943. Orff was based on the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale, but was also inspired by other variants of this theme. In addition to the fairy-tale motif of the king and the clever woman, he also used a number of dry, drastic sayings from a collection of proverbs from 1846 . After the cantata Carmina Burana, Chytračka is Orff's most popular stage composition. It tells in a funny way about a clever peasant girl who guesses all the riddles, outwits the tricksters and even wins the love of the king himself. Orff's music is captivating in its versatility, using a variety of styles from folk genres to classical opera to new compositional developments.

Operní soubor uvede 19. února 2017 od 19 hod. premiéru dvou hudebních děl Carla Orffa – operu Chytračka a scénicky provedenou kantátu Carmina Burana.

Carl Orff (10. 7. 1895 – 29. 3. 1982), velká osobnost dvacátého století, pedagog, skladatel a také humanista. Narodil se do hudební rodiny, která podporovala rozvíjení synova talentu. Od roku 1912 studoval na Akademii múzických umění v Mnichově, aby zde mohl pokračovat ve studiu skladby a kombinovat své samostudium s tradičními postupy výuky na škole. Orffovy experimentátorské snahy v oblasti kompozice našly uplatnění i v jeho budoucí pedagogické práci – Schulwerk, která potom zpětně ovlivňovala jeho činnost uměleckou.

Orff se učil také u starých mistrů, jejichž díla studoval a upravoval (např. nové aranžmá Monteverdiho Orfea). Světovou proslulost získal ve dvaačtyřiceti letech svou scénickou kantátou Carmina Burana (1937), která i pro něho samotného měla velkou důležitost mezi ostatními díly. O několik let později skládá Orff Catulli Carmina (1943) a Trionfo di Afrodite (1951), jež tvoří spolu s Carminou Buranou trilogii Trionfi.

Dalším Orffovým významným inspiračním zdrojem byly pohádky bratří Grimmů, které byly inspirací pro opery Měsíc (1938) a Chytračka (1942). Důležitým základem je také řeč, např. v bavorských hrách Die Bernauerin a komedii Astutuli. V bavorském dialektu jsou napsány další dvě hry s náboženskou tématikou Comoedia de Christi Resurrectione (1955) a vánoční hra Ludus de Nato Infante Mirificus (1960). Antické motivy zpracovává ve hrách Antigona (1949), Oedipus Tyrannos (1959) a Prometheus (1968).

CHYTRAČKA
Pohádka o králi a chytré ženě, která měla premiéru ve Frakfurtu nad Mohanem v roce 1943. Orff vycházel z pohádky bratří Grimmů, ale nechal se inspirovat i dalšími variantami tohoto tématu. Vedle pohádkového motivu krále a chytré ženy použil také řadu suše drastických výroků ze sbírky přísloví z roku 1846. Chytračka je po kantátě Carmina Burana Orffovou nejpopulárnější scénickou skladbou. Vypráví zábavnou formou o chytré selské dívce, která uhodne všechny hádanky, přelstí podvodníky a dokonce získá lásku samotného krále. Orffova hudba je strhující ve své mnohotvárnosti s použitím nejrůznějších stylů od lidových žánrů přes klasickou operu k novému kompozičnímu vývoji.
