Opereta compuesta y escrita por Pauline Viardot, una de las mejores y más influyentes cantantes de su tiempo. Original para piano y siete voces, Viardot concibió la obra para representarla en casa suya para halagar los amigos.

Se estrenó en París el 23 de Abril de 1904.
