The Athens Philharmonic Orchestra presented Carl Orff's stage cantata "Carmina Burana" - for three soloists, symphony orchestra, mixed and children's choir on January 29, 2017.

The program started with five short pieces by Manolis Kalomiris.
First, the work "The Palaces of the Art Singer", for string orchestra, flute and recitation, in poetry by Kostis Palamas, written by Kalomiris in 1943, the year of Palamas's death.

This was followed by four folk songs for one voice and orchestra: "Awake sleep, my daughter", "The East sparkled", "Vasiliki protects" and "Karlovasitiko".
